Brendan’s Bridge was established some 30 years ago, founded by Brendan Harrod and we are delighted to be named in his honour. Brendan also founded Bridge Training Ltd which eventually evolved into a unique private training centre for young people between the ages of 14 and 19.
Brendan’s Bridge has worked consistently over the years to support the young people enrolling at Bridge Training Ltd through funding of necessary resources to enable them to embrace learning and progress without the fear of not being appropriately equipped or of not having the right emotional support. Indeed, until very recently the charity held the very similar name Bridge Training Resources.
Today Brendan’s Bridge is needed more than ever. While we still work with students from Bridge Training Ltd, we are rapidly transforming into a vibrant, independent charity working with a range of partners from alternative provision schools to fellow charities. We not only work with young people but out in the communities of Gloucestershire. Based at City Works in the heart of Gloucester, we are centrally located and ideally placed to support some of our county’s most challenged areas and the people who live and work in those areas.
